On April 6th and 7th, MedPlaya participated for the first time in Trailwalker, the world’s largest team sports and charity challenge, organized by Oxfam Intermón, an NGO fighting poverty caused by climate change and working to reduce social and economic inequalities worldwide.

Since its first edition in Spain in 2011, this charity race has been a resounding success. Nearly 30,000 people have participated in the event, raising over 8 million euros, making it an emotionally charged experience and a team challenge marked by camaraderie and overcoming obstacles.

In this 13th edition, our team, consisting of Lidia Aldeguer, Anna Bartra, Anna Johé, and Layla Teba, along with their support group composed of Manel Pérez, Manolo López, and Laia Marturià, covered no less than 55 kilometers in 12 hours and 41 minutes, starting from Olot and reaching Girona.

The event has brought together teams from around the world with a clear objective: to convert the kilometers covered into clean water for 100,000 people in vulnerable communities in Africa, Asia, and Latin America deprived of it due to the climate crisis.

MedPlaya’s participation in Trailwalker reflects its social and environmental commitment, as well as its support for charitable causes in our community. We hope that our involvement in this initiative will be the beginning of a tradition in the years to come.

We also take this opportunity to thank our teammates for their tremendous effort in Trailwalker. They gave it their all, and that makes us very proud. Congratulations on all you’ve achieved and the goals you’ve reached!
